More pool fun...

My parents decided they wanted to get a small pool for the summer.  They usually get a small plastic one for the dogs because Abby just LOVES the water.  Sprinklers, the lake, you name it, she loves it.  So, this summer they got another pool.

Well, I guess you could say that anytime my dad does something, he doesn't half-ass it, he goes all out.  He told my mom that he was going to get a pool this year, one that he could take Abby in to swim, and that he was going to build a platform for said pool. So needless to say when I hear they got a pool, this is what I pictured....

So naturally I am thinking, why in the world do you need to build a platform on the lawn for this kind of pool?  Well, I was wrong.  When my dad said he was getting a pool for the summer, this is the kind of pool he was thinking of....

a 12 foot, pool complete with filter.

Like I said, he doesn't do anything half-assed.  Of course Kennedy and I had to take advantage of my parents newfound pool during this hot weather, so we went over Sundy afternoon after it had been set up for a bit (to allow the water to warm up) and jumped right on in.

Kennedy LOVED it!  She loved her floaty because it gave her the freedom to play with her toys a bit.  But when I pulled her out she kicked her legs, and loved to float on her belly.  I think we have a little fish on our hands.  She absolutely loves loves loves (do you think she loves it?) taking baths, so I figured she'd enjoy swimming, and we were right.  I think we'll be spending part of our summer in the water.

Once we got out we hung out with a naked baby in the backyard while she dried off and we enjoyed the warm weather.  And because I love my child too much, I just cannot post naked pics of her on the internet for the world to see, so you'll just have to take my word that they're cute.  But here are a couple where you can't see much :)

(please disregard the beer in this picture :-) )

(she was enthralled with the toy that Amy was chewing on)

Shortly after these pictures she had a melt down because of her allergies (at least that is what we are thinking it is) and so we had to go home for a nap.  But it was fun while we were there!

We have a sitter!!

So about a week ago Kennedy started being able to sit (somewhat) on her own.  She'll topple over some, and she tries to hold herself up with her hands, but she is doing it!!

So, that's it for now.  Yay for short blog posts with cute baby pics.

Weddings, Weddings, Weddings...

that should be the theme of this summer.

We've already been to two so far, with two (possibly three) more to go!

The first wedding was Brian and Jana's wedding up near Redding.  It was in a beautiful area, with the reception inside of an old barn.  Now, you're probably wanting pictures, just to see this beautiful place I am talking about huh?  Well, we took our cameras, and didn't take one, not ONE, picture of the wedding, or us at the wedding!!  I am hoping to see pictures from other people.  However, Austin did manage to take about 200 pictures of Kennedy eating her sweet potatoes at the hotel because she was blowing raspberries while eating - he was so sure he'd get a pic of the spit in the air.  I think he might of succeeded, though it is hard to see...

Well, onto the second wedding of the summer.  My good friend (once almost sister) that I've known since preschool (so probably 3 years old) got married! A.J. - also known as Alexandria got married to Bryan (yes, another Bryan) on June 19, 2010 in Sonora.  The wedding was held at her mother's residence, and it was really a beautiful affair.  But I digress, I will tell you about our day first so that I can get through the slew of pics.

We headed up early Saturday so that we had time to get to our hotel and settle in.  Kennedy as having a blast, and let me tell you, this little girl LOVES her dad.  He is the only one who can make her seriously bust out laughing, and her face just absolutely lights up when he gets home or she sees him.

(oh and that tongue is just out and about now for good I think)

We went out by the pool area for a bit, but the water was too cold to try and get Kennedy in.  My mom has the pics of this, so sorry, can't add them just right now.

Once we all got ready we headed out to the wedding just a few minutes away.

Grandma cuddled with Kennedy at the start of the ceremony, until she wanted to see what was going on.  We also had to make sure to take away her squeaky and crinkly toys during the ceremony, ha.

The ceremony site was in the backyard, which really is woodsy and beautiful.  AJ did a wonderful job of adding in little details here and there.

The ceremony was fast, not always a bad thing, so we headed up to the reception area.  They had baseball tickets hanging on a line with our names on them, which then told us our table numbers.  They are both living in Chicago and are huge Cubs fans (they even had the Cubs song as their recession song,Cubbies bars as the favors, and the table numbers had something to do with the Cubs as well - pretty creative!!).

Okay, so now on to what you really want to see, pics of us right? (ha, that is my wishful thinking, but I think we all looked pretty damn good :) )

See that tongue!!!

She's one happy peanut.

It got chilly after awhile, and Kennedy got sleepy.

So, we didn't stick around for too long, but long enough to eat some red velvet cupcakes, tell the bride I loved her and wished her and her groom the best.

Well, that was a very long (and picture filled post) just about weddings and one (well two) Saturdays.  Another post about Sunday should follow soon.

Happy Father's Day (a little belated, sorry)

Sunday was Austin's first father's day!!  I was pregnant last year for father's day, so I guess it could have counted, but really this is the first one.

We had gone to a wedding in Sonora on Saturday night, so we woke up Sunday morning and went to brunch in Jamestown at the Willows (an old haunted hotel).  While breakfast wasn't something to write home about, it was still great to be together as a family.  My Aunt Shirlee joined us, as well as Aunt Kelly and Uncle Mart (errrr Grandma Kelly and Papa Marty, man, I have to get used to calling them that!)

Kennedy did her work and made daddy his father's day gift and card (her hand and foot print)

It took me about 200 pics to get these, three, and then we really couldn't decide which D's to use (the A was a no brainer because of that face, haha) So here was option 2:

They all turned out so cute though.

We also took a pic (or 20) for Grandpa!

I'll post about the entire weekend in another one.  But Just wanted to say Happy Father's Day Daddy! (from Kennedy)

And Happy Father's Day Dad, I love you and thank you for everything you have done for me! (from Steph :) )

7 months! What?!?!

Kennedy is 7 months old today! She is officially closer to being one than she is to being a newborn and I just still cannot believe it.

She is growing so much every single day and that little personality is just shining through!

(okay seriously mom, it is a little early for this!)

I still cannot believe that we were given this precious little girl.  She is such a happy baby, and seems to love and enjoy everything we do.  The summer months ahead hold a lot for us, travels and what not, and I just cannot wait to see what she thinks of Yellowstone and Montana!

Happy 7 months Peanut!! (and yeah, she is still a peanut, probably about 13lbs)

Everybody into the pool...

well at least Kennedy!

I picked up an infant blow up pool a couple of weekends ago.  Kennedy loves her baths so much that I figured loving the pool was going to be a given.

So we got her ready in her cute lil'suit.  Granted Austin and I bought it before she was here, before we knew she would be early, so it was a little big, but still fit her for the most part.

Then it was time for the water.  She enjoyed playing with her cups, and the toys that hung off the pool.  (There are tons of pics because I think they're cute.  Granted I may be a bit bias.)

She had a blast, and we'll likely be doing it again.
