8 months!!

This is a bit late because we left for vacation on the day she turned 8 months old, so there was no way to blog.  But we did take the obligatory 8 month pics.  They were super quick because we had to leave, so they're not the best, but here they are. This will be a quick post, I'll update more about our trip and Kennedy's milestones in a later post (probably still today or tomorrow).

She is getting so big!

This is how we eat in our house....

As I said in a previous post, our girl loves her food! This is how she's taken to eating it :)

That's all, have a great day!

Happy 4th!!

Happy Independence Day America!!

As has come to be the norm, my posts relating to an event or holiday tend to come a couple of days late. I apologize, but honestly on the day of the event/holiday I am enjoying said event/holiday and choose to not take the time away and blog, so please bear with me as I continue to post these blogs a day or two (maybe even 3?) after the event/holiday.

This past weekend was full of stuff to do! On Saturday morning we got up, got ready and headed to the county fair.  We figured Kennedy may get a kick out of seeing the animals and all of the people.

Well, we didn't get many (err any?) pics from the fair itself, bummer.  But we had fun, walked around bought a few useless items, some expensive beers and food.  We headed home a little after two because Kennedy was in desperate need of a nap in her own crib, and we had some Green Chili Burritos that were in need of being made!

Kennedy was wiped out when we got home, so tired, poor thing.

Then on Sunday we got up to head out to Rios Lovell winery with my parents.  We had to pick up my mom's wine club wines and do a bit of wine tasting (we HAD to, come on, it was free!).  But first Kennedy made sure she helped Dad read the ads in the newspaper.

Then we got ready to heat out for the day.  We had to be festive of course.

At Rios Lovell (the scene of her wine grabbing at Mother's Day)

Again she was wiped out when we got home (we learned the next day why she was so tired, poor thing)

But the second she got up we went swimming, and again she loved it!

But the poor thing just would not eat her bottles, she'd eat maybe 2 oz and then absolutely refuse to eat.  She'd chow down on her normal food like crazy, but no bottles.  We were worried that she'd get dehydrated because it had been warm and she was outside (granted in the shade mostly) but we still worried.  So, we pulled out the pedialyte pops from when my nephew was here.  She loved it!!  I only gave her maybe about 1/16 of the thing (if that) but she did not want to give it up.

We ended the day with dinner, and then our own small (groundblooms and a couple sparklers) fireworks because Kennedy was ready to go home, she just refused to nap anymore at my parents house.

All in all it was a great weekend.  Kennedy slept fairly well Sunday night but Monday morning she was just not happy, she wouldn't nap, and I felt horrible for her.  She had been diagnosed with an ear infection a  week and a half ago, but I just never felt like she was acting "better", my gut instinct told me the infection didn't go away.  So back to the peditrician we went and my instincts were right.  She still had an ear infection (hence not wanting to eat because sucking on the bottles hurt) and we were to try a new antiobiotic.  She also was teething big time, so the poor girl got two whammys at once (we had assumed the teething anyways).  We also finally got the okay to start her on liquid (children's) Zyrtec.  Austin and I knew it was allergies causing her te be miserable the last few weeks, and also the reason behind the ear infection.  Luckily we got to see our pediatrician this time, not another on-call doc, and once we told her Benadryl worked perfectly for Kennedy, she instantly agreed it was allergies and ok'd the use of the Zyrtec.

Once the Zyrtec and new antibiotics kicked in she was a new baby.  The added plus for Kennedy of all of this is she got to start on yogurt early because of the back to back antibiotics.  She loved it something fiercly.  If she see's it she gets so excited, and then whines until the next spoonful is brought back to her mouth.  What can I say? My girl loves her food.

Wow, that was quite the long post, thanks to anyone who actually read it!

6 month portraits (a little late)

I am way way behind on posting these, mostly because I wasn't happy with the shoot, how they came out and what not, and really, Kennedy just wasn't the happy peanut she usually is during the pics.  We really only bought the CD because I couldn't not have her 6 month pics.  (and then it even took me, well Austin about 3 weeks to pick it up once it was ready, oops.)

We went to JC Penney again because I had a coupon, and we get free sittings.  For her 1 year pics I think we'll be hiring a photographer and doing family pics out and about.  Since it is the fall it will be pretty to do them outside at a park or something.

The plan was just for Kennedy to be in them, but we always get wrangled into the pics.  So, here are a few of them.

So, there you have them, a little late but I figured I'd share them anyways.
